Paris - Oras Zibaoui The city of Nantes, located in western France in the Loire River region, witnessed a significant event, the opening of a new cultural center dedicated to contemporary arts. This center comes within a series of cultural centers concerned with contemporary art, distributed in the French regions, and received the support of the Ministry of Culture and the official local and regional councils. Jack Lang, the former Minister of Culture and President of the Arab World Institute, was the first to launch the project of these centers in 1982, and one of its goals is to spread cultural activity outside the capital, Paris, which historically attracts creators from all over the world and where major museums, cultural institutions and galleries are located. The birth of the new cultural center in the historic city of Nantes is part of this path, which aspires to give cultural vitality to cities and regions far from the center of the capital.
