At Modern Arabesque, we visited Leila Heller Gallery in Dubai, to witness Eduardo Perez Cabrero's show "Day of Silence", which began on May 30, 2021.

During our visit, we had the chance to chat with the artist "Eduardo" about his most prominent works which was characterized by the influence and culture of the Mediterranean area. His art pieces consist mainly of sculptures with organic references which works in round and zigzag shapes in large formats, made of aluminium, copper, resins, cement and ceramics.

During this exhibition, the artist emphasizes on a piece that hold a romantic title, "I Will Take You to the Stars." Eduardo wants to show how the heart feels when someone says these words.
He wrote for Modern Arabesque explaining this piece: "It's like an explosion of feelings inside you. How can anyone take you to the stars? It doesn't really matter if you reach the stars or not. It's the intersection of two people. I'd do anything for you. I'd like to forget the reality to enjoy my life by your side. I'm just Connected to you, when I'm with you the rest of the world disappears.
And when you see the artwork, you understand what it really is when someone has these ideas for you. how beautiful he is. Life moves because of love.
What I really like is the interaction of both explosions. Each person in the relationship is represented by one of both explosions. And in the middle is the interconnection between them, each of us needs our own space, close to the other but in the end each of us is a different person with a unique identity.”

This installation contains more than 400 pieces of blue ceramics, spread over a wall of 9 meters wide, and 3.5 meters high.  The exhibition also features three other artistic pieces of brushed aluminum and several 3D resin artworks which express the language of form and color, leaving an indelible impression that is both logical and dreamlike.

Eduardo Perez Cabrero, born in Barcelona in 1961, is a Spanish multidisciplinary artist working between Barcelona (Spain), Miami (USA) and Ras al-Khaimah (UAE).
His works are characterized by simplicity and purity. His artistic conceptual messages parallel his way of understanding life. In some cases, it appears intriguing and mysterious, which invites us to see his work in a more introspective dimension.

From the Modern Arabesque team, we thank Eduardo for his welcoming interview and we invite you to visit this amazing exhibition that runs until September 15, 2021, and we will keep an eye on his future work.
