This September, until 30 September 2026, Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi invites visitors to slow down, explore and reconnect with the natural world through Born Curious, a month-long programme bringing together family workshops, gallery experiences and wellness sessions beneath the museum’s spectacular prehistoric displays.
Located in Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Cultural District, the programme offers visitors different ways to experience the museum—from discovering how animals move through water to exploring the natural forces that inspired its architecture.
Family Weekends
Throughout September, families can take part in a series of hands-on experiences designed around movement, nature and discovery.
Movement Through Water explores how water has shaped the movement and survival of animals, from an ancient Abu Dhabi hippo to some of the fastest creatures in today’s oceans.
For those interested in architecture, the Architecture & Design mini tour looks beyond the museum’s galleries to explore the natural forms and geological forces behind its distinctive design.
Meanwhile, the Ocean Layers Workshop takes families from sunlit shallow waters to the deepest ocean trenches, exploring how light, pressure and life change as the depth increases.
The Needle Felting Workshop offers a more creative experience, inviting families to transform wool into nature-inspired creations they can take home.
Family activities take place every weekend throughout September, with multiple sessions available across the day.
Wellness Beneath the Dinosaurs
The museum's dramatic atrium also becomes a setting for a series of wellness experiences throughout the month.
Visitors aged 15 and above can join yoga, strength training and sound meditation sessions beneath the museum's towering sauropods.
Yoga Beneath the Dinosaurs takes place on 1 and 15 September, offering a sunrise session surrounded by the museum's prehistoric giants.
On 7 September, a ladies-only Microformer session combines low-impact strength training with the unique atmosphere of the atrium.
The programme continues with a Sound Meditation Experience on 22 September, inviting participants to slow down and experience the museum through sound.
A second ladies-only Yoga Beneath the Dinosaurs session takes place on 24 September, offering an evening of mindful movement and breathing.
A Month of Curiosity
Beyond the cultural and wellness programme, visitors can also discover a selection of food and beverage concepts throughout the museum.
House of Pops, now open in the Brand Gallery, offers plant-based fruit pops made with natural ingredients, while Bento Bowls brings superfood bowls, smoothies and protein-rich meals to the museum from 29 August.
On 4 September, Glaze Bakehouse launches in the Curiosity Wing, offering freshly baked sweet and savoury treats.
The museum is also offering 30% off admission tickets for UAE nationals and residents throughout September, making the month-long programme an opportunity for families and visitors to explore the museum together.
Adult admission is AED 70, while visitors under 18 enter free. Concessions are also available for eligible UAE students, teachers, military personnel and selected cardholders. People of Determination and UAE-based seniors aged 60 and above can enter free of charge.
Access to the workshops and events is included with a valid museum ticket, with registration required for selected activities.
A Different Way to Experience the Museum
With Born Curious, Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi turns September into more than a programme of activities. It creates different ways to experience the museum—through movement, creativity, wellness, architecture and family discovery.
Set against a story that spans 13.8 billion years of natural history, the programme encourages visitors to pause, ask questions and look at the world around them with renewed curiosity.
