More than 500 original artworks by over 200 contemporary artists living and working across Iran are now being presented internationally through Continuum: Artist Relief for Iran, a new non-profit cultural initiative created in response to the recent conflict affecting the country.
Presented by Duran Art Projects and co-curated by Dario Duran and Mariam Rasti, Continuum brings together participating galleries across Iran with an international network of galleries, curators, institutions and cultural partners. Rather than functioning as a conventional exhibition, the initiative creates a direct channel through which artists can gain visibility and financial support through the presentation and acquisition of their work.
Art as continuity
The initiative was developed around a simple question: how can the international art community support artists whose practices have been disrupted by conflict, canceled exhibitions, financial hardship and displacement?
Its answer is Continuum — a platform designed not only to provide immediate financial support, but to help artists maintain continuity in their practices and remain visible internationally.
Participating galleries across Iran have voluntarily waived their commissions, ensuring that 100% of artwork proceeds go directly to the participating artists. The works span painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, installation, mixed media and interdisciplinary practices, offering an unusually broad view of contemporary artistic production inside Iran today.
A network extending beyond Iran
Developed over several months through collaboration between curators working inside Iran, participating galleries and international cultural partners, Continuum connects artists in Tehran, Rasht, Isfahan, Mashhad, Kashan, Bandar-e Anzali and other Iranian cities with audiences and collectors beyond the country.
The platform currently organizes available works across three price ranges — up to $500, $500–$2,500 and $2,500–$5,000 — making the initiative accessible to both new and established collectors.
Among the participating galleries are 009821 Projects, Bavan Gallery, Bostan Gallery, Choom Gallery, Emrooz Gallery, Ev Art Gallery, Hengam Gallery, Jaleh Gallery, Mah Gallery, O Gallery and Sharif Gallery, alongside other spaces across Iran.
Beyond a moment of crisis
While Continuum was conceived in response to conflict, its ambition extends beyond immediate relief. By introducing Iranian artists to new international audiences, collections and institutions, the initiative seeks to strengthen the long-term visibility of contemporary art practices developing inside Iran.
As Duran Art Projects describes it, the project is ultimately about continuity: keeping artists connected, visible and able to continue their work at a moment when that continuity is under pressure.
With hundreds of works now accessible through the platform, Continuum positions collecting not simply as an act of acquisition, but as a direct form of cultural solidarity.
