Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida will begin a phased reopening starting on May 20 after the resort closed indefinitely in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a post on the Disney Parks Blog by Matt Simon, vice president of Disney Springs, "a limited number of shopping and dining experiences that are owned by third-party operating participants will begin to open during this initial phase." In the last month and a half, Disney has given very little information about the reopening of its international resorts, but this week, fans of the theme parks can finally begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

There will be a number of operational changes as Disney Springs uses new health and safety procedures to protect guests when it reopens. These safety measures include the use of face coverings by guests and cast members, increased cleaning, and new training for cast members.
