Louvre Abu Dhabi Louvre Abu Dhabi has officially announced the open call for proposals for Art Here 2026 and the Richard Mille Art Prize, marking the sixth edition of its flagship contemporary art initiative.

This year’s theme, “Confluences,” expands the project’s geographic and cultural scope by including artists from the GCC and India, reflecting deep historical ties rooted in exchange, migration, and shared cultural evolution between the two regions.

Curated by Kamini Sawhney, the 2026 edition invites artists to explore how cultures, ecologies, and histories intersect—creating moments of friction, hybridity, transformation, and dialogue. The selected works will be installed as monumental site-specific artworks beneath the museum’s iconic dome, interacting with key architectural spaces such as the Damascene fountain, passageways, and reflective water installations.

Beyond an exhibition, Art Here continues to position itself as a platform for regional artistic voices, encouraging contemporary narratives that reflect identity, memory, and global interconnectedness.

The initiative is supported by the luxury watchmaker Richard Mille Richard Mille, which will award a $60,000 prize to one outstanding artist, reinforcing its long-standing relationship with contemporary art and design innovation.

The exhibition will open in November 2026, with the prize announced in December.

Located within the wider cultural ecosystem of Saadiyat Cultural District Saadiyat Cultural District, the initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi’s broader vision to position itself as a global hub for culture, dialogue, and creative experimentation, supported by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
