In a city defined by ambition and architectural boldness, art too is becoming part of the public narrative. This year’s edition of the Dubai Collection places Dubai’s cultural vision in focus — with a masterpiece from the private collection of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stepping into public view.
Running until March 8, 2026, Dubai Collection Nights invites audiences to encounter works that usually remain behind closed doors.
A Masterpiece from Sheikh Mohammed’s Collection
Among the highlights is Untitled (2000) by Syrian artist Moustafa Fathi. The painting, owned by Sheikh Mohammed, is now exhibited at Al Safa Art & Design Library as part of the curated show In Attunement.
Its presence underscores a powerful message: when leadership values art, culture becomes part of the city’s identity.
Dubai as a Living Museum
Organised by Dubai Culture & Arts Authority in partnership with Art Dubai Group, Dubai Collection Nights transforms the city into a decentralised museum.
Rather than operating from a single permanent building, the Dubai Collection works through long-term loans from private collectors. With more than 1,200 artworks catalogued digitally and activated through exhibitions and tours, it represents a new cultural model — flexible, collaborative and future-facing.
Mapping Memory Through Abstraction
Curated by Jumanah Abbas, In Attunement responds to the 2026 theme:
“Mapping Memories: Landscapes in Flux and Geometries of the Imagination.”
Featuring artists such as:
-
Hassan Sharif
-
Samia Halaby
-
Rana Begum
-
Chaouki Choukini
the exhibition explores how abstraction records memory — through line, geometry and material.
Until March 8
Dubai Collection Nights runs until March 8, 2026, offering studio visits, private collection tours, panel discussions and workshops.
In Dubai, art is not confined to galleries. It is part of a broader cultural vision — one shaped by patronage, participation and leadership.
