The Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi is set to open on December 3, 2025, offering visitors an immersive experience that engages all five senses. Located in the Saadiyat Cultural District, the museum aims to honor the legacy of the UAE's founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, through innovative storytelling.
In collaboration with Emirati composers Hamad Al Taee and Mohammed Al Ahmed of Studio Al Watan, the museum features a custom rendition of the UAE national anthem and instrumental compositions inspired by Sheikh Zayed’s poetry. These musical pieces reflect the nation's identity and history, aiming to evoke a deep sense of national pride in visitors.
Additionally, the museum has partnered with Casa de Oud, an Emirati fragrance house, to create a signature scent that blends traditional notes like oud and jasmine. This fragrance is designed to evoke memories and emotions, adding depth to the narrative experience.
Berklee Abu Dhabi has also contributed by developing ambient soundscapes that mirror the UAE’s diverse natural environments, such as deserts, seas, oases, and mountains. These soundscapes are played throughout the museum's open spaces, enhancing the storytelling experience.
The museum's architecture, designed by Foster + Partners, features five towering structures resembling falcon wings, symbolizing the UAE's heritage. Inside, visitors will find six permanent galleries showcasing over 3,000 artifacts, offering a journey through the nation's history from ancient times to the present day. The experience begins with the Al Masar Garden, an outdoor gallery that introduces visitors to native plants and sculptures reflecting the UAE's landscapes.
Tickets for the museum are now available, with adult tickets priced at AED 70. Children under 18, Emiratis, and UAE residents over 60 can enter for free. The museum will be open daily from 10:00 to 20:00.
