Seoul Fashion Week was scheduled for March 17-21 has been cancelled, as cases of the coronavirus continue to rapidly increase within South Korea.

The announcement follows the cancelling of several events and shows that were scheduled for this autumn/winter 2020 season. As local and international designers began pulling out, organisers had no choice but to cancel the shows. While Seoul has moved to handle the issue promptly, coronavirus fears have started to impact fashion weeks across the globe, as Milan Fashion Week also faced challenges which lead to shows going ahead without press or buyers. A Seoul Metropolitan Government official in charge of the fashion week announced that they would be hosting other international design fairs instead of the scheduled shows as a way to support designers.

The biannual fashion week will still be held in October as scheduled.
