Daydreams is a pop up show that will be held from June 23-30 from 11 am to 8 pm at ‘’Arthaus-Gemmayze - Beirut.
This show is organized by ‘’Artists of Beirut’’, a socially responsible initiative and concept aiming at growing Lebanon’s creative economy by promoting and developing Lebanese women artists & artisans creative talents while supporting the restoration and preservation of Beirut city’s heritage ; this initiative was launched by CAROLE AYOUB & YARA JAHCHAN in September 2020 .
This year , the pop up show will reveal the exclusive thematic collection prepared by the 3rd selection of Artists & Artisans , around the theme of ‘’Daydreams’’ , and more than 60 dreamy artworks made of various artistic techniques : painting , sculpture, mixed media, collage,photo,ceramics and Upcycling art (polyart,paper mache)
The artists & artisans taking part in the show are : Lama Mansour,Vanessa Dammous,Mireille Goguikian,Nada Karam, Caline Farah, Claude Chikhani,Magali Majdalani,Paulette Eid,Claude Saba,Magda Malkoun,Zeina Chehab,Karim Hantes ; in addition to the GUEST ARTIST ‘’RANDA NEHME’’ who will be presenting a selection of her art pieces ; as well as the participation of few artists from the sub-initiative Artists of Beirut Boutique : Nevine Mattar,Nicole Mezher,Ramona Mansour .
The show will also feature cultural & artistics animations :
-June 25th at 11:30 am : a sculpture workshop with the show guest Randa Nehme
-June 28th at 11:30 am : a thematic conversation with the artists concerning the Daydreaming in
Beirut , animated by the Art & Historian& Cultural mediator Joelle Hajjar
-June 30th at 10:00 am: photo workshop animated by the artist photographer Nada Karam
It’s important to note that the show will be providing support to Beirut Restoration ; a part of proceeds is going this season to ‘’Rebirth Beirut’’ , a NGO bringing light and safety to the city .
DAYDREAMS show will embark visitors in an imaginary trip , a better reality like sweet interlude, a brief diversion from our current world, our tumultuous city of Beirut .
