On Monday, Salem Sarhan, the Emirati man, was named the winner from more than 27,000 entries in the prestigious National Geographic "Moments" competition and had bought his first camera a few years ago.

National Geographic Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Saudi dairy company Almarai, announced that the 27-year-old won an award for a sunset photograph, taken by a drone, showing him and his brothers praying at home after the temporary closure of mosques in the United Arab Emirates due to the pandemic Coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Sarhan, who studied law in Al-Ain, will receive $10,000 worth of professional photography equipment and have his winning photo published in National Geographic Al-Arabiya magazine.
