A spokesman for a historic Chinese mission to space said today, that stones brought by the mission from the moon came with weights less than the target, but China is still ready to study the samples in partnership with foreign scientists.

China became the third country in the world to obtain samples from the moon when its unmanned probe (Chang'e-5), which carries the name of the moon goddess in Chinese mythology, brought samples of moon soil weighing 1,731 kg, less than the target weight of two kilograms.
