Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is offering up to $190,000 in free medical coverage if a guest tests positive for COVID-19 during their stay at one of its Singapore hotels, the luxury hotel group announced on Tuesday.
The coverage is available to international travelers who come to Singapore between January 1 and June 30, 2021, from one of 11 countries that have special travel arrangements with the island city-state.
These countries are Australia, Brunei, mainland China, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
Singapore, the first Asian country to receive Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine, is trying to revive tourism and form leisure travel bubbles with other countries in the region.
