A new online database allowing users to browse more than 100 examples of graffiti etched into trees was launched in the New Forest of 28,924.5 hectares in the south of England, and was designated as a National Park in 2005 to give it the highest level of protection and preservation for the future.
The New Forest National Park Authority (NPA) has sponsored examples of symbols and writing on trees in the national park, some of which date back hundreds of years, including those of those seeking protection from witches.
